Q7: I am going to have more than one row of seats in my home theater. Should the first row of seating be made up of low back chairs?

A: If your theater room has a flat/ level floor, throughout the whole room, then yes, a front row of low back seats will offer a better view of the movie screen for the people sitting in the back rows. That being said, another factor is the height of the bottom of 9your screen. See our ´Tools´ page, or call us at 727-798-6949 with more help with determining which chair height will work in your room.

Q8: I want steps or risers in my theater, so that the rows of seats will be at different height levels.
Is a low back chair in the front row necessary? What should be heights of the risers?

A: No, a low back front row is not necessary. Depending on the height of the risers, (4 to 12 inches between levels works nice) you can have high back chairs in the front and back rows. See our ´Tools´ page, it contains a helpful diagram.

Q13: If I choose a theater chair with a back that reclines, or rocks backward, how much room do I need to have behind the chair, so that I will not hit the wall behind the chair when the chair´s back moves backwards?

A: 3 to 5 inches is recommended. See our ´Tools´ page, it contains a helpful diagram.

Q14: Why real movie theater chairs? Isn´t a lounger recliner better?

A: Yes and no. It depends on what you want to use your theater room for. One big advantage of real movie theater seats is you can comfortably fit more people into your theater room. Another is that real theater seats are commercial grade, they are tough, plus they make your theater actually a theater, not a T.V. room. If you want to occasionally nap in a lounger chair, consider having both loungers and real cinema seating in your home theater. A row of each.

Q15. What size should the home theater seats be?

A: The most popular real movie theater chairs are 22 inches wide, from center of armrest to center of armrest, and the seat is usually about 20 to 22 inches deep, and the chair is 36 to 40 inches tall, measured from the floor to the top of the chairs back. This is larger than say, 30 years ago, when the average theater chair was only 18 or 19 inches wide.

Q16.How do I determine the overall width of a row of theater seating?

A: Most chair widths are given in center-to-center dimensions. So a chair that is '22-inches wide´ is measured from the center of one armrest over to the center of the other armrest. So first you multiply the number of chairs times that width. So, 3 chairs at 22" center to center would equal 66´. That is fine, but that is not the total OVERALL width... Next, you now have to add the ´other half´ of the armrests, at the ends of the row. This is usually 4 to 5 additional inches. So in our example, 3 X 22" = 66" + 4" = 70" total overall width. Here is 1 min. 45 sec. video explaining this: Click on this sentence: How to determine the overall width of a row of theater seats.

Q17. How many chairs will fit in my room?

A: Here are some of the basic things you need to take into consideration:
You want the person sitting in the front row, actually the person´s head (not their knees), to be 1 to 2 times the width of your screen, away from the screen.
So´ say your screen in 100 inches wide. Then you would want the eye of the person sitting in the front row of seats to be100 to 200 inches away from the screen.
Another basic thing is your aisle widths. A doorway is 36 inches wide, so use that as a guide. Some people like wide, say 48-inch aisles, others don´t mind a 20-inch aisle. Remember to allow room for doors to open and for stairs. All of these issues need to be taken into consideration. See our ´Tools´ page, it contains a helpful diagram.

Q18. Do I need to put my seating on to a riser platform to improve my view?

A: This concerns your line of sight. If you can get the bottom of your screen high enough off the floor, then no you do not need risers. Usually if your screen is 3 feet off the ground, that is enough. Riser height can vary from 4 inches to 12 inches per step. With 6 to 8 inches being the most popular height. However if you want tall chairs, say 40 or 42-inch tall chairs, then risers may be necessary. See our ´Tools´ page, it contains a tools, a diagram and links.

Q19. How much do the home theater chairs cost?

A: Prices range depends on the features of the chair, its bells and whistles. Our description pages tell you the pricing for each model, and what bells and whistles are available for that particular model of seating.

Q20. Why should I buy from you?

A: Price, Quality and Service.
Truth be told do not all of our purchasing decisions come down to those three things?
So let's talk about them...
Price: Quite simply, we will not be undersold. We offer a price match guarantee.
We will match any price you find for the identical item. Competitors price must be provided in writing. We check our competitors, and make sure our pricing is not higher. So, you will get the best price.
Quality: We offer a 5-year warranty. Not just a 1-year, like our competitors. Remember we have been making theater seating since 1975. Our commercial-grade quality is second to none!
Service: We treat customers the way we want to be treated. We answer the phone! We stand behind our seating after the sale. We provide wedding dresses quotes, in writing. We provide delivery dates, in writing. Here at Celebrity Seating, exceptional customer service is not the exception it´s the norm.
So to summarize´ The quality is absolutely first class, #1.
Celebrity Seating has been around and will be around for a very long time. Celebrity Seating has an excellent reputation, and an extremely impressive track record. In addition to superior quality, Celebrity Seating does not change chair models. It does not discontinue seating models like many other companies.
Let me explain, you see if a chair manufacturer puts a new model out on the market, and it does not sell well, they pull it. Makes sense. But what if they put 10 models on the market, and pull them? What if they put 10 models on the market, every year, and then discontinue them? What if you just happened to have bought a discontinued model? Well that´s just too bad. No parts available, so sorry.
But with Celebrity Seating, we have tried, tested, and proven our models BEFORE they went to market. True we make improvements from time to time, but if you buy a chair from Celebrity Seating, and 15 years from now you need to replace a dented seat pan, no problem. You bought from Celebrity Seating. We will help you with that.
So why buy from us? Because you want the very best.
The best quality-made seating available, guaranteed.

Q21: How much do the theater seats weigh?

A: This answer variers greatly, depending on the chair model. For example the Cinema Star Rocker and The Star Delight Rocker new theater seats weigh about 70 pounds each, depending on the options that you choose. But The Festival chair, for example, only weighs about 45 pounds each.

Q22: Do the chairs come delivered in rows? How are the chairs packaged, are they already assembled in rows or do they come in pieces that I need to assemble?

A: By far the majority of the time your chairs will come to you partially assembled.
The back of the chair will be all put together, the seat bottom with its cushion and bucket will all be put together, and the leg of the chair with its armrest and foot will all be put together. So you will have boxes with backs in them, boxes with seat bottoms in them, and boxes with legs in them. Several backs fit in each box, several seat bottoms fit in each box, and several legs fit in each box. The hardware to attach the backs and the seats to the legs is included with your order. However the hardware to attach your chairs to your floor is not included.
Note if you order say, 20 chairs, do not expect to get 20 boxes. You could have 12 boxes or you could have 18 boxes, it all depends on how the backs, seat bottoms, and legs are packaged.
